![]() I do NOT suggest the similar, but much longer M-14-style Choate unit, as it is needlessly long, IMHO. 1848 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by bshnt2015, Oct. ![]() in this thread in this sub-forum in the entire site. I kept my mini-30 but it just was not the same as the 2 folders that I had. The Buttler Creek stocks work, but they are ugly (IMHO). So, I sold a couple of my mini-14s several years ago and had regretted it since. Ruger never sold their factory folding stocks to the public, so they had to be married to a Mini-14. I also replaced the OEM A1-style FS on my Ruger GSR with a YHM A2-style FS, and the reduction in muzzle rise between shots was as welcome, as it was expected. It appears to me that the front sling swivel is on the side of the gas block in the last picture.this appears to a GB model and Ruger did occasionally mix the components as stated above.this may be a late LE version and the factory had only stainless steel folders left and so built it with the complimentary trigger group.or it may have ordered that way. Factory folding stocks go for roughly 400, when you can find them. I installed the short Choate FS on my Mini long ago, and never regretted it. Unless you also have a QD sound suppressor, then go with the best QD flash suppressor/mount available. The A2 style FS does almost everything very well, and is better than some far more expensive types. Think about it: 7.62 has more gas to deal with, so naturally the flash suppressor needs to be increased in volume (length) to accommodate such. 100 NEW AND UNFIRED, NO HANDLING MARKS, SCRATCHES, RUST, WHAT. Im wondering what that original side folding stock is worth. ![]() Someone has put an original Ruger side folding stock on it. May be others, but do not be deceived by modified 5.56 cal FS units that are bored-out, but retain the same length as the base 5.56 cal FS. RUGER MINI-14 'GB' MODEL ( BUILT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT) SPECIAL FLASH HIDER AND BAYONET LUG, ALSO WITH FACTORY FOLDING STOCK, STAINLESS FINISH, ADJUSTABLE APERTURE REAR SIGHT, ATTACHED SLING SWIVELS, BARREL IS 18 1/2', OVERALL LENGTH WITH STOCK OUT, 44', LENGTH WITH STOCK FOLDED 30'. I recently purchased a mini 14 GB that came from the factory with a walnut stock. One of my dream guns, if I lived in free America, is the GB in a factory folder. For Mini-30 owners, the only purpose-made 7.62 cal A2 flash suppressor I know of is made by YHM. M1 carbine/AR15 style post and wing front sight, sturdy ghost ring rear, heavier stepped and tapered barrel (same diameter as the mini-30 barrel). If my Mini had a threaded barrel, I would chose the appropriate A2-style threaded flash suppressor and replace the A1-style OEM flash-suppressor. These slip-on units are made in various diameters for different diameter barrels, and are available in blued and stainless steel. ![]() Adding a little weight to the muzzle of the Mini has some accuracy benefits. Is there are serial number range to verify if it is factory. I am looking at a Mini 14 GB LE factory folder. If it is suitable for your particular Mini, I suggest the short Choate flash suppressor/front sight unit This unit will mimic the closed-bottom A2-style AR-15-type flash suppressor, and also provide a far better, more visible, protected front sight than the OEM blade sight. 1 1 1gunsnotenough Buckeye Joined Messages 1,826 Location Athens ,Ga. ![]()
